In an interview with the Associated Press, the First Lady said she was comfortable being photographed in public.
“I’m never going to hide my looks, because that’s the way people perceive me,” she said.
“It’s very flattering for people to look at me in public, and they know that I’m not hiding my looks.”
The First Lady’s appearance in the interview came a day after she was photographed by a photographer in the lobby of Trump Tower.
In a statement to the AP, Melania Trump said: “I would like to thank my staff photographer, Daniel Kohn, for capturing the moments I am most proud of.
He is an incredibly talented photographer, and I am extremely grateful for his help.”
The White House said it was still assessing the situation.
“We are reviewing the situation,” a White House official told the AP.
